Ambra Vallo -
is a former principal ballerina with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. She turned to yoga on a path to recovery from injuries and slowly over the years she fell in love with the more subtle, spiritual parts of the practice. Retiring from dance allowed her the time to focus on her passion and to undertake further training in Ashtanga Vinyasa (500hrs), Dharma Yoga (800hrs), Rocket Yoga (500hrs), Forrest Yoga (200hrs and Advance TT), Tripsichore (200hrs), and Gokul Vinyasa Yoga (300hrs).
Ambra’s teaching is fun and spontaneous following the lineage of Larry Shultz, Ana Forrest, and Sri Dharma Mittra. Since she retired from professional ballet she has been teaching regularly in teacher training courses, and has worked with athletes such as Aston Villa Football Club where she uses yoga to drive better performance. Her aim is to guide others so they may also experience the many amazing benefits of yoga to the body, mind and soul.
Fabio Filippi - Assistant Teacher
A devoted disciple of Sri Dharma Mittra, Fabio’s journey of enrichment continues through Dharma's spiritual guidance, practicing daily, sharing classes and workshops and teacher trainings of Hatha Raja Yoga. Fabio has taught and assisted Ambra Vallo on multiple teacher trainings around the globe.
Fabio's curiosity drives him to travel extensively to remote regions of the world, to find inspiration from people and cultures, while continuously maturing his inner awareness and enriching him with a multitude of experiences. Always enthusiastic and fond of visual communication, Fabio continues working as a photographer and visual designer and created the images for the Indaba School of Yoga.
Jambo Dragon - Anatomy & Physiology
Jambo is a Forrest Yoga Guardian and has been a yoga practitioner for almost 20 years. His degree was in Complementary Medicine with a special interest in diagnostic techniques.
His learning experience is a combination of muscle testing, acupuncture and myofascial structural bodywork.
Jambo brings into his teachings his background which includes assisting those with Chronic Pain and Trauma. In recent years, he has also developed an interest in exercise prescription for musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Jambo’s teaching style introduces the anatomical and physiological aspects of yoga and how this is fundamental to teaching yoga safely.
Ivy Mok - Functional Movement & Anatomy
Ivy is a registered physiotherapist & holistic therapist, she commits her life to study human anatomy, physiology, patio-physiology and Visceral Manipulation. She is also certified as a CranioSacral Therapist.
Ivy has taught yoga since 2009 and studied with Sri Dharma since 2010, Ivy incorporates the experience from her yoga and therapy journey to her classes and teacher trainings, to assist students to recognise their innate self-healing power according to their pace. She finds the combination of these two areas the two most profound way to help people to maintain health on physical, mental, spiritual levels.
Naren Herrero - Philosophy & History of Yoga
Naren Herrero was born in Argentina, where his parents were already practicing yoga and following Indian spiritual teachings. After finishing his degree in Journalism, he lived in Italy, London and India, before finally settling in Barcelona where he became a journalist and writer specialising in Yoga, Indian Philosophy and Spirituality.
He teaches Philosophy, Mythology and History of Yoga combining his respect of the ancient Yogic tradition whilst delivering the teachings to inspire and engage a modern Western audience. He is a certified 200hr Dharma Yoga Teacher and he teaches regular hatha-raja yoga classes in Barcelona.
Naren is the creator of the Spanish website Hijodevecino which has been online for ten years and has become a reference source for many yogis.
Katarina Rayburn - The Business of Yoga
After discovering a strong yang style of yoga in London, Katarina travelled to India to explore the lighter practice of Sivananda, she then returned to India a year later to complete her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga and Rocket with The Yoga People. By 2017 she had completed 500hrs of advanced Teacher Training with The Yoga People, in Ashtanga, Rocket, Yin & Mandala Vinyasa.
Katarina has been very successful is combining her love of yoga and sharing the practice with recognising the importance of building a yoga brand. In 2016 she started Kindred Yoga and runs regular sell out retreats, in April 2018 she opened Kindred Yoga Studio in Deptford, S.E London.
